Chicago Tribune names Midwest Groundcovers & Midwest Trading winners of the Chicagoland Top Workplaces 2024 Award.
November 14, 2024 – Midwest Groundcovers and Midwest Trading (The Midwest Companies) have been awarded a Top Workplaces 2024 honor by the Chicago Tribune.

Peter and Irma Orum founded Midwest Groundcovers, LLC in 1969 and Midwest Trading Horticultural Supplies in 1981. Midwest Groundcovers is an industry leader in the propagation, growing and wholesale distribution of quality container nursery stock. Operating over 700 aces of state-of-the-art nursery production facilities at five locations in St. Charles, IL; Virgil, IL; and Glenn, MI.
Midwest Trading Horticultural Supplies is a leading wholesale supplier in the green industry providing sustainable products for over 40 years. Midwest Trading specializes in the production of greenhouse and nursery mixes and custom-engineered soils as well as providing the landscape industry with landscape mulches, soil amendments, and horticultural supplies.
Top workplaces are awarded based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by Energage LLC. This confidential survey uniquely measure the employee experience.
