Outside Sales Rep. for WI/IA/MN - Midwest Groundcovers

Full Time Year Around

To meet or exceed sales forecasts to a specified list of customers in Wisconsin, Iowa and Minnesota by active promotional and relational selling, promoting the company image, selling our products and services, personal account care, meeting customer service expectations, and working as a member of the Midwest Groundcovers team while achieving one’s personal goals in the process.

Essential Responsibilities:
Promote and sell the complete line of products and services Midwest Groundcovers offers
Build relationships with Growth Partners and Sustaining Partners through regular sales visits
Achieve target quality sales visit goal on a monthly basis
Reach yearly territory sales goal and assist in making yearly company sales goal
Provide excellent customer service and continue to develop service method and styles
Participate in industry professional associations such as Wisconsin Nursery Association & Iowa Nursery & Landscape Association to support industry and promote positive industry relations
Coordinate requests for support with garden center presentations and open house events; act as speaker at 5 customer events per year
Contribute ideas for show promotions, presentation and message. Collaborate with marketing and trade show teams. Work trade shows
Preferred Experience:
Knowledge and established network industry professionals
Strong knowledge of cultivated plants
5 years of industry and sales experience
Knowledge & Skills Required:
Excellent sales, customer service and persuasion skills
Strong computer skills such as Outlook, Power Point, Excel and Word
Strong organizational skills with attention to follow up
Strong knowledge of horticulture and green industry
Strong market development skills
Excellent verbal communicator and negotiator
Effective written communication skills
Strong problem solving and consulting skills
Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, Business or related field
