
Bill Davey
Board Member
Bill is a financially astute business leader with deep roots in agriculture and a strong understanding of how Midwest companies operate. His career spans over four decades across education, banking, and farming, bringing a balanced perspective to business strategy, team development, and community leadership. Bill began his professional journey as a vocational agriculture teacher before transitioning into banking, where he held senior roles including Commercial Loan Officer, Senior Loan Officer, and ultimately President of North Operations at First State Bank in Sycamore from 2012 to 2023.
He holds a B.S. in Agricultural Education from Illinois State University, an M.S. in Agricultural Education from the University of Illinois, and an MBA from Northern Illinois University. He also completed the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, graduating in the top 5% of his class.
In addition to his professional work, Bill operated his own 140-acre farm for more than 30 years and continues to stay connected to agriculture as a farmland owner and landlord. Deeply committed to his community, Bill has served in leadership roles with the Lions Club, Shriners, Sycamore Pumpkin Festival, Ben Gordon Mental Health Board, Sycamore Library Board, and as Chairman of the Sycamore Planning and Zoning Commission and President of DeKalb County Crime Stoppers.
A former athlete, Bill attended ISU on a football scholarship, was a three-year starter, and signed as a free agent with the Miami Dolphins in 1976. He and his wife are proud parents of three grown children and grandparents to six.
