Yellow sunflower-like flowers that attract bees and parasitic wasps on top of stalks up to 12′. Large, flat, deeply divided, rough foliage. Leaves sit close to the ground in a cluster with each leaf reaching lengths of 18″. The edges of many of the leaves point north and south, hence the name Compass Plant. Prefers dry soils.
