Compact rounded habit, slow-growing nature, lustrous bright green leaves. Fragrant inconspicuous flowers, small black berries in fall that offer little ornamental interest. Adapted to a wide range of growing conditions; best in full to partial sun. Can be selectively pruned but not sheared. Suitable for hedges, mixed borders and foundation plantings.
