Masses of small, star-shaped reddish-purple flowers in July and August with occasional flowering into October. ‘Sweet Summer Love’ is the first fragrant, multicolored clematis and can produce over 2,000 flowers in a growing season. Prune early spring when new buds begin to show. remove all dead material above those buds.
