Baptisia leucophaea (bracteata var leucophaea)
(NGN)
Cream Wild Indigo
Cascading branches of cream-colored flowers. An elegant plant with smooth, waxy leaves and lovely pea-blossom clusters from early May to mid-June. Later in the year, an entire plant may break off at its base and roll around in the wind as a means of dispersing its seeds. A choice prairie plant that should be included in our prairie restoration projects. Attracts bees and parasitic wasps.
